Welcome to the PDX Home Brewers Club!

Joomla! LogoPBC's mission is to have fun promoting the art and knowledge of home brewing. Although PBC's home is in Beaverton, Oregon, all are welcome!

PDX Home Brewers club is based out of Beaverton, Oregon and is open to one and all who share the common interest: to share and learn about the wondrous art of homebrewing. In our attempt to promote the hobby even more, we created pdxbrewers.com. Here at PDX Brewers.com you can connect with other brewers to exchange ideas, techniques, equipment, recipes, and maybe even a few samples...:-)

We meet monthly at Max's Fanno Creek Brew Pub in Tigard. A great place to hang on the west side. Also we have many club events including group homebrewing, brewery tours, BBQ's, and alot of other homebrewing and beer related stuff. Our next meeting is coming up soon so visit this webpage for details or you may contact us on the links to the left.

We also offer a club email chat where most of our members hang out. If you would like to give the email chat a try, just click here. For more information on membership, dues etc , see the about tab.

If you are ready to become a member, just create a user account through the member logon on the left and follow the instructions. Once your dues have been paid your account will be activated. You can pay dues online or at the next meeting.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jim aka Hopdadi, Founder and Webmaster.

E-mail Print PDF
Happy New Year PDX Brewers!  We hope you had a great holiday season and are ready for another year of homebrewing.
We are kicking off 2014 with our first meeting this coming Monday, January 20th at Max's Fanno Creek Pub in Tigard at 7:00pm.  The new 2014 board is interested in your feedback on what you have enjoyed this past year and what you would like to see for the coming year.  It is a great opportunity to voice your opinions and ideas and help affect what happens in 2014.
Our new membership dues structure that we have been talking about is now in place.  Dues for the year are now owed on January 1st for all members.  If you have not paid for 2014, you can pay on-line using Paypal, or bring cash or check to the next meeting you attend.
As always, bring your homebrew to share (2 -22oz will usually do).  Who knows, you could walk away with a $10 Gift Certificate to Brew Brothers for winning People's Choice.
We will see you at Max's!

Where Max's can be found at 12562 SW Main St in Tigard (map)

Description Please join us at Max's Fanno Creek Brew Pub in Tigard on our usual 3rd Monday of the Month. We will be trying a new “Style Guidelines Education” program/event. This month we are focusing on Porters, style category 12B, “Robust Porter”. We will discuss this popular beer style (especially since it is winter) and the 3 most popular Grains and Hops of this style. This will include whole grain, grain steeping(s) and hop teas to taste, and aroma samples of the hops, followed by discussion of what they add to this beer style. We will follow up with 3 commercial samples of this category to savor, experience and discuss. Will be a blast watching your eyes and faces when trying the hop teas!!

As usual, bring in your homebrew for the “People’s Choice” Awards. Lots to accomplish at this meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you all and your feedback from this meeting!

Holiday Party

E-mail Print PDF

Now that the family holidays are moving behind us, it's time for our holiday blow out party!

We've been working hard to put something together that's bigger and better than ever before. Did we succeed? The only way to find out is to be there!

We'll have fun and games, brewery tours, raffle, beer exchange, free food, and the first beer is on us!

We're bringing back the beer exchange ring toss. You bring a bottle of beer worth $10 or more and we'll give you a ticket. After the party is in full swing we'll set up the bottles and everyone with a ticket will get a turn tossing keg rings at em until they win. You'll keep the bottle your ring lands on.

This year's raffle is huge! We have dozens of items worth having including a new brew stand! We'll also be playing name that grain for prizes.

There is so much going on it's hard to put it all in print.

Now for the important details:

This party is for PDX Brewers Club members + 1. This means you have to be current on club dues. Not sure if you're paid up? That's easy. None of us are at this moment. Everyone's dues are due in January, so you can either pay on our website http://www.pdxbrewers.com/ via PayPal, or bring $25 cash or check to the party ($35 for the family plan). We'll have a table set up with someone checking you in. If your dues are paid you'll get a ticket for a free beer.

Not a bad deal eh? $25 get's you dinner for two at the party, a beer, and a year's membership to the best damn club in town! Oh yeah! Every member gets to pull a bottle cap out of a hat for a free prize worth at least $5

If you're planning to bring more than one guest, it'll cost $10 each to cover the cost of food.

When are we doing this? Saturday, January 11th

What time? 6pm til whenever. Parking get's dicey after 7pm

Where? Old Market Pub and Brewery - 6959 SW Multnomah Blvd, Portland, OR 97223
